House of Boards helps with complex challenges through mobile advisory boards
Empowering companies and government agencies, that is the mission of House of Boards, a recent initiative that already gathers some 30 top people. Initiator Christof Vermeersch wants to offer added value to Belgian companies in different areas through the ecosystem that is created by cumulating the networks of all board members.
Dynamic business framing
House of Boards is synonymous with a network of entrepreneurs, experts, C-level profiles, academics and investors. At the request of a company’s board, it provides overarching and dynamic business support, with a quartet of specialized services. “First, through a 360° approach, we provide company monitoring, which leads to specific advice. This allows the company to eliminate blind spots and obstacles and shift up a gear. Secundo expertise can also be requested on demand, for fairly rare topics that are so complex that they require a high degree of specialization. At the executive level, we can add value through a task force that provides board and CEO leverage through measured interim management. Last but not least, through us it is possible to strengthen the company’s assets through fundraising in the form of bank financing, subordinated government loans, an in-house or external investor network.”
“In these very challenging economic times, you can never have all the know-how within a company.”

Complementary ecosystem
To be clear, House of Boards does not intend to take over the role of an outside advisory board, board of directors or CEO. “We mainly want to provide complementary knowledge. In these very challenging economic times, you can never have all the know-how within a company. Then it is reassuring to be able to fall back on an ecosystem that in no time lines up to help you with specialized expertise.” In the short time that House of Boards has been operating, it has already received a variety of assignments from all walks of life. “These range from seeking capital on preparing a company for the digital transition, to paving the way for the installation of a board of directors or advisory board. We can also find the right people for preparing succession within family businesses, complex negotiations, joint ventures with companies from other countries and internationalization issues. Just imagine running a company today that gets a significant portion of its sales in the United States and now sees the landscape changing dramatically because of Trump’s new presidency…” House of Boards focuses primarily on the Belgian market and is still seeing the network grow daily with powerful profiles. “It is very enriching for people from our ecosystem to temporarily apply their experiences and talents in another context,” concludes Christof Vermeersch.
